And so it begins........GOT time.

And so it begins. Everyone will be talking about it. The anticipation has built up and up. There have been programmes about it, magazine articles, interviews with the actors, Facebook and twitter, arguments and discussions. Yes it's time for the final season of GOT. That's 'Game of Thrones' to anyone who doesn't know about it. (How can you not know about it?)

I read the books before I saw the series. I am a purist but find it hard to know what order to do this in. If I watch a series first I then have the actors in mind as the characters when I read the book. If I read the book first I have a picture in my mind of what the characters should look like. If they don't look like my imagination then I sometimes have a hard time getting in to the depth of those characters. Oh the agonies of what to do.

Type in GOT in any Google or Bing search bar, Facebook or Twitter search and you will get up countless information about this series. It is huge and genuinely you can spend hours reading all sorts of information and suppositions and diagnosis's about the story line. Already this morning my news feed is full, and I'm having a hard time avoiding seeing any details about last night's premier of season eight. I don't want to know!

The story line has captured the imagination of many, many people, and spawned a whole generation of unusually named babies. The imagination of the author is boundless, and as he has had a strong hand in the creation of the series you just know that this is what he saw in his mind when he wrote the book. I am a fan, but I pity anyone who isn't, because the whole media wagon will be flooded with information for the next few weeks to come. Really, my advice to you is get on board. Have a go at watching some of it. Persevere. Get the mettle of the characters and watch out for the shocks. Let your imagination go. Dream a little. If you don't you will, at some point, wonder what you have missed. Then you will end up watching it after everyone else, and then you will wonder why you never watched it before!

Neil has only watched the first series. He said he got fed up because I always watched it ahead of him, but he's still managed to stay in the loop knowing what is going on. He'll probably end up watching this last lot with me. Funny how he can hop in and out like that. I am a die hard, keep going through any boring bits, person. I've done it with Walking Dead, and who would have thought I would watch a show about zombies? I mean zombies? Really? But sometimes something comes along and captures your own imagination and you get taken along for the ride of escapism, and really that's what this is all about. Escapism. Someone else's life is worse, more wild, more exciting, than yours, and you live  little of those moments. It's not real life (thank goodness) but it could be in some other universe? Imagine that? Game of Thrones could be real. Walking Dead could be real. Outlander could be real. Nah, it's all fiction fortunately. My life is enough for me. It's a story of it's own, and one day I may just wrote that book and hopefully someone will find it interesting and read it. But for now it's GOT time. Let the finale begin. Enjoy the ride...….
