My hair looks like I've stood in an electrically charged puddle!

Right now I have what is currently (not a pun) known as static hair. It's full on standing up and crackling. I could power up my computer with the electricity it's generating!

This morning my hair looked rather good, if I say so myself. I haven't had it cut for a while so the shape isn't great, but it flicked out where it should do, and curled under where I wanted it to. Just typical as I tie it back in a side ponytail for work. I use a lot of grips in my hair to keep it tidy all day while at work, and am rather glad to take them all out when I get home. As I pulled the grips out today I could hear a crackle every now and again. When I pulled the tie out, well good grief!! There was a sound like a full on lightening strike, and my hair whooshed up and stood wafting all around my face. I looked like I had stood in an electrically charged puddle. It was all very gracefully wafting about, but as I tried to lay it flat again all my hair did was fluff up even worse and fly in any which way direction. It then stuck to my face in bits, and even ended up in my mouth. Yukkity yuk yuk yuk.

I don't tend to suffer from static hair so right now I have no idea why it's happening. I can't think that I have changed anything recently, and although I did change my hairspray for a few days I didn't like it and changed back to my usual Elnett. I even noticed that my work trousers appeared to be rather statically charged when I removed them after work too. Maybe I am turning into some sort of super hero? You know, one that can generate electrical charges and give out a shock to stop criminals. In my dreams...…..or not actually. It seems I am just super charged right now.

Funny enough I seemed to be giving my cats little shocks when I stroked them too this evening. The wide eyed look they gave me suggested they would be giving me a wide berth tonight, and I may not be flavour of the month right now. Considering I could actually see little lights of static charge in my hair in the mirror, proved to me that I was a personal walking electric power generator. Maybe I could put this to good use, hold my mobile phone and sod plugging it in to recharge the battery? I could save money! No such luck. It doesn't quite work like that, and in spite of the fact that you can actually feel the static electricity around you it's not 'the right type' of electricity derrrrrr! Foolish woman I am.

Anyway right now, a couple of hours later, my hair is flat and smooth and I am not crackling as I walk through the house. I have no idea where the static has gone? The cats are still staying well away from me though, but a glass of wine is compensating me for the lack of purring companions. I have no idea why I seem so vibrantly electric recently but some people are naturally like that. I'm not, and I would really like it to stop as it's been happening randomly. So guess where I am off to? Yes good old Google. I'm sure the answer will be somewhere on the internet, so hopefully I can avoid the flyaway look in the coming days 😲
